Hi there. Welcome to the ActionMax page. Released in 1987 by Worlds of Wonder, the ActionMax was a gaming device like no other. Instead of then-popular cartridges, it relied on VHS tapes to play in your VCR. Due to the fact that the only controller was a gun, all five games relied on shooting targets. The VHS tapes could not differ, therefore, all the targets were in the same place every time you went to play it. It was probably this that led it to its doom later that year. Only 5 games were released for the ActionMax, but with the rise of homebrew possibility, I have decided to make homebrew games for this great system. This is a page dedicated to the humble ActionMax and its games.

Here are the fab five, the only released games within its lifetime. Blue Thunder is the last and rarest of these, as it was released later in September of 1987. The other four were released in May of 1987.

"Bubba's Buck Blastin'" was released in September 2015, 28 years after Blue Thunder. A second homebrew release was made by me and released May 2017, thirty years after the ActionMax release.
